Publication: Fast Filling of CHG2 Tanks
To enable wider adoption of ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, we need ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐ซ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ without compromising ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฒ. During rapid filling ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ฌ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง (๐๐๐โ) ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ค๐ฌ, in-tank temperatures can become highly ๐ข๐ง๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ, and our experiments with Type III and IV tanks (60–320 L) show that the ๐จ๐ง-๐ญ๐๐ง๐ค ๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ can significantly ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ the actual average tank temperature. The position of ๐ก๐จ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ญ๐ฌ depends on tank size, geometry, and filling conditions, making ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ critical for reliable temperature measurement. Accurate temperature data are not only essential for ๐ฌ๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ (e.g. SAE J2601–5), but also for developing and validating ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ-๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ of tank temperature during fast fills.
