Publication: Water Injection
New Publication from the Hylley Research Project
We are pleased to share that our latest paper has been published by SAE International as part of the FKFS International Symposium in Stuttgart:
"Experimental Investigation into Port Water Injection on the Transient Behavior of a Heavy-Duty Hydrogen Engine"
Key Highlights:
✅ Experimental investigation of port water injection on a heavy-duty hydrogen internal combustion engine.
✅ Effective suppression of combustion anomalies through port water injection.
✅ Exploiting the increased anomaly limit to achieve improved transient response and enhanced full-load performance.
✅ Showing the theoretical feasibility of a closed-loop water injection concept.
This work demonstrates the potential of port water injection as an effective measure to expand the operating limits of heavy-duty hydrogen engines, enabling improved transient performance and enhanced full-load torque.
Special thanks to all project partners and contributors from Graz University of Technology and our industry collaborators within the Hylley Research Project for their valuable collaboration and support.
